These meetings are organized to discuss all which concern the life of the Association: rules, appointment of the judges, etc.

The TICA accepts, after check, the pedigrees of the clubs of the whole world if they are recognized by proper authorities. The titles obtained in the international exhibitions by the parents and the extra on the pedigree of cats are resumed.

The TICA possesses standards very detailed on every listed race, these standards are established by the committees of races, subjected to the vote of all the breeders in the considered race, then to the Committee of Genetic and to the Committee of the Terminology, Board votes for the modifications having made sure that all the procedures were respected.

The internal regulations (exhibitions, clubs, judges etc.) are very professional and precise. The TICA possesses judges' pool steered by Bobbie Tullo.
Every new member is steered towards the grouping of the race which he bred. Every race is represented by a Committee the leaders of which are elected themselves by the members.

The TICA organizes Awards

Regions also organize Regional Awards during which cats with most points by Region are rewarded.
This list is established in the United States following points obtained in the exhibitions by the registered cats and is communicated to the Regional Director at the end of the season in may.
TICA judgments
An exhibition TICA bases on a system of judgment, where all the cats are presented individually to a judge who is going to classify them from the first one to the last one by colour, groups of colours (or divisions) and by race. At the conclusion of this judgment which takes place in public and orally, the judge calls back the better cats, (10) any races and one often spectacular finale rehabilitate them from the 10-th to the 1-st.

During the same exhibition, cats are judged by several judges who each are responsible for their own finale. So, he can there have results different from a ring judgment to the other one, but, most of the time, the same cats meet themselves there, only the classification differs.

If cats are not classified according to the morphological categories of the classic exhibitions, there are nevertheless two types of finales :
  • Finale All Breed : all the races and lengthes hairs compete together.
  • Finale Speciality Shorthair : All the races with short hairs compete together.
  • Finale Speciality Longhair : All the races with long hairs and at the middle - lengths compete together.
The finales of 10 cats require a minimum of 25 participants by ring to be valid.

There is no allocation of titles during the judgments in finales but, according to the points which the cat obtains by his classification, The cat can then obtain titles of Champion, Grand Champion, etc.

The various classes of commitment
As in classic judgment, there are finales reserved for the sterilized cats and the class very appreciated across the Atlantic for the house cats, or the ordinary cats, called House Holded Pets (HHP).

The kittens from 4 to 8 months compete in a class which is reserved to them. They are classified as the adults, and participate in the finales, but they can not aspire in titles.

Also, the new races and colors not still recognized by the TICA can be exposed in special classes but cannot get some titles :
  • KITTENS : cats from 4 to 8 months old. (Recognized breeds)
  • CHAMPIONSHIP (adults) : cats from more than 8 months old. ( Recognized breeds)
  • ALTERS : spayed cats from more than 8 months old. ( Recognized breeds)
  • HHP - House Holded Pets : cats without pedigree.
  • NBC - New Breed or Color : Cats belonging to not still recognized races but being the object of a program of approved breeding. The new colours are cats of recognized races but being the object of a new colour in the not still admitted race.
Allocation of the TICA titles
Cats are called on the ring judgment according to their race, to their division (particolore, two-coloured, united, ...), by their colour, and by the pattern (spotted, mackerel, ticked, ...). Only count for the obtaining points classifications in the colour and division. Any point is not given for the best of race.

A division is a group of colours based on the genetic of colours to the cat. The TICA recognizes 5 divisions :
  • Solid division : united colours, without tabby nor Silver marks.
  • Tortoishell division : colours of the heterozygous cats for the orange-coloured gene.
  • Silver & Smoke division : colours of cats expressing the inhibitive gene. It is about cats Silver Tabby, Silver Shaded, Chinchilla and Smoke, whatever is their basic colour.
  • Tabby division : colours of all the cats Tabby, except Silver.
  • Particolor division : all the colours with white.

Allocation of points according to classifications in finales with a minimum of 25 Cats
A classification in the 10 first ones of one finale allows to obtain supplementary points. It is also a condition for the ratification of the titles.
Noted: of 25 cats in 20 cats in a class, the finales are reduced from 10 to 5.
Modalities of ratification of the titles
  • Champion : 300 points with 4 different judges and participation in one finale.
  • Grand Champion : 1000 points in 6 finales with 4 different judges, among whom 3 finales among the better 5 Speciality or 10 All Breed.
  • Double Grand Champion : 2000 points with 1 finale among the better 5 in Speciality or 10 All Breed as Grand Champion.
  • Triple Grand Champion : 3000 points with 1 finale among the better 5 in Speciality or 10 All breed as Double Grand Champion.
  • Quadruple Grand Champion : 4000 points with 1 finale among the better 5 in Speciality or 10 All breed as Triple Grand Champion.
  • Suprême Grand Champion : 6000 points with 1 Best cat as Quadruple Grand Champion.

At the conclusion of a season of exhibition, cats having obtained most points are the object of a classification by regions and an international classification.
To enter the classification of the 10 Better Cats of the Year is the consecration for a breeder.
