An hypoallergenic cat ?
The allergy to cats is frequent at least more than the allergy to dogs.
Asthmatic people have to be careful with their contact with animals.
Then, there are some people who are allergic to fur but to all fur animals and then there are people who are allergic to cats and only to cats. About 85%(1) allergic people are allergic to cats because of their saliva they leave on their fur while doing their wash.
Those persons are sensitive to the Feld1 protein that we can find in the saliva, urine, hormone and sebaceous glands of the cat.
All cats have this protein and no cat is a "non-allergic" cat for humans but there is a cat who has less protein than other bred cats. Those cats can give cat lovers who are allergic to cats a chance to get one at home. To get to the point that cats who don't have fur (like Sphynx) or have shorthair fur (like Devon rex, Siamese ...) don't reduce the presence of this protein and don't reduce the allergy risks for people.
To know if the Siberian cat has less Feld 1 than the other cats, some tests were made in laboratory in the U.S.A. thanks to Linda Tartof (a member of the TAIGA association). In fact, Linda Tartof sent a different of cat coat samples from cats of different sexes and from bred cats or not. The results were conclusive and the scientists have noted that the Siberian cat has few of this Feld 1 protein. So, the rate may be modified if the cat is a male, a female, a neuter or a spay cat. However, the color pattern has no relation with the protein rate. The Neva masquarade (or colorpoint Siberian cat) has the same rate as Siberian cat with a traditional color pattern.
Now, some allergic people are glad to get a Siberian cat in their home except if sometimes some persons again have an allergic reaction to this cat.

What to do if you are allergic to cats and that you want to get one no matter what ?- Treat the allergy with the help of a specialist as your allergist.(2) Don't make a quick decision in getting a cat without knowing every single risk you can get, specially if you are allergic to them.
- Visit a cat breeding. Try with a Siberian cat and see how you feel with your allergy.
- Avoid leaving your cat all over your house, in particular in your bedroom. The cat will have his room with his cushions. You just have to beach him early.
- Be careful to your sweety cat hairballs and moulting periods ! You will have to clean your room with the vacuum and to brush your cat.
- Wash your cat about once a month. The cat should be clean.
