Temper :
The Siberian cat temper is like the Norwegian forest cat one.The Siberian cat is a sociable cat even if we meet again some shy cats. He accepts all animals as dogs, other cats, guinea pigs, all if he has some contact with as a kitten. The Siberian cat is a nice active cat who loves to climb over trees. A good cats tree or if you can an outside cattery (the best !) will be a good investment if you decide to get a Siberian kitten in your home !
He likes the caresses, to be brushed, and human contact !
A lot of love and consideration will give you a happy cat !
The Siberian cat is tender, playful and active. He loves to meow to you !

Grooming :
The grooming of the Siberian cat coat don't take too much time. He possesses a damp-proofing fur which cleans itself practically alone. The Siberian cat has a fur that he inherited from his wild ancestors to survive under rough climates. The bath is not a necessity except accident (mud, diarrhea ...) !!
It's a semi long haired cat that requires however a regular brushing in moulting period. Indeed, as the Norwegian cat, the Siberian cat knows a short but intense moulting period. (Twice a year, in spring and in autumn.) If he lives inside, the moulting will be almost non-existent because the cat will have developed fewer sub-hairs. However during the moulting, it is better to brush your companion more frequently to help him to eliminate the dead hair. Please, note as well as by licking itself, the cat swallows many hairs which can then form balls of hairs in the stomach. Most of the time, cats can vomit but it can provoke intestinal occlusions. Where from the interest of the brushing and to leave to him at arrangement some herb for cat or to give him some malt paste. Outside these periods, a weekly brushing is enough by insisting on the zones where knots can form (behind ears, between paws, breast and buttocks !)

It will also be necessary to verify its ears, its teeth (problem of tartar, inflammations of the gums ...), to treat the cat against fleas, worms (give him a paste against worms and grubs twice a year, every 6 months), and respect the reminder of its inoculations. All this will be made for any cat!

The Siberian cat is not a difficult cat for food ; I give them for my part of quality dry food, from time to time tuna-fish or raw meat.

Finally, I use some compact litter that I find effective at the level of the smells and practise to clean. Cats like scratching in this sand, they go there so gladly !

Please, think also of making spay your cat and / or castrate your male if you do not wish to intend your cat for the reproduction and for the exhibitions. These measures will avoid you many concerns for you and for him. Females can be spayed from 7/8 months old and the male from 7 months old. Females do not need to have a litter before being spayed.
Finally, here are some inconveniences which you will avoid : urine marking (females as males), the ceaseless cooings in period of reproduction, the fights, running away, dangers of the road or by other animals, fatal diseases by sexual or blood contagion, some kitten every 6 months ...
The advantages of the sterilisation or the castration : the cat stays at home, will be more affectionate! Please, attention however in its food, which he does not too much enlarge !

Finally if nevertheless I did not convince you, please, consult your veterinarian !

Furthermore, the Siberian cat will appreciate to play with you.
Fishing rods "mice" please them really (I believe that all the cats would like to have one ... of it) and it will be funny to see them jumping up to catch their "prey" ! It is an agile cat and very playful !
